September is Sports Eye Injury Awareness Month

Sports are the leading cause of eye injuries among children 14 and younger. Protective eyewear can help prevent sports injuries. Regular prescription eyeglasses and fashion sunwear do not provide adequate protection and are not held to the same performance standards as eyewear labeled for protective use. Only polycarbonate lenses are recommended for use in protective sports eyewear. The lens in everyday frames could pop out and puncture or cut the eye or the frame itself could cause an injury.

Stop by any one of Independent Eye Care’s three locations and check out our selection of adult and children protective sports eyewear.
